Hey, crafty friends! 🍄 I love a good pumpkin as much as the next person, but let’s be honest: every fall, the internet turns completely orange. If you want something a little different for your autumn table, shelf, or party favours, I have just the thing. Meet my Mushroom Box Autumn Candy Holder, a woodland-inspired treat box that brings all the cozy fall feelings without a single pumpkin in sight.
Why a Mushroom?
Mushrooms have become one of the coziest symbols of autumn. They make you think of forest walks, fallen leaves, and that whimsical storybook woodland look that’s so popular for fall decor right now. A mushroom-shaped treat box fits right in, and it’s a lovely way to stand out from the sea of pumpkins at fall parties and gatherings.
About the Mushroom Box
This woodland-themed box is made to hold candies, small treats, party favours, or mini gifts, which makes it a good fit for all kinds of autumn events. Once folded, it measures about 9.5 x 11 cm (3.74 x 4.33 in), so it’s a nice compact size that’s easy to make in a batch and easy to tuck onto a table or shelf.
Ways to Use It This Fall
• Autumn party favours: make a few and fill them with candy for a cozy gathering
• Thanksgiving place settings: a sweet surprise waiting at every seat
• Classroom treats: a fun fall alternative for teachers and students
• Mini gifts: tuck in a small treat or a little something handmade for a friend, neighbor, or coworker
• Shelf and table decor: a few of them together make a charming little woodland scene
What You’ll Need
• Cardstock in autumn colours (think warm reds, creams, browns, and golds)
• A Cricut, Silhouette, or other cutting machine
• The Mushroom Box file from my Etsy shop
• Glue or double-sided tape
• Candy or small treats to fill it
How to Make It
1. Download and unzip the file. Open the format that matches your software (SVG for Cricut Design Space, STUDIO3 for Silhouette Studio).
2. Upload it and pick your colours. Choose your cardstock and set it up the way you like.
3. Cut your pieces. Load your cardstock and let your machine do the work.
4. Fold and assemble. Follow the video tutorial for the fold lines and gluing steps.
5. Fill it up. Add your candy or treats, and you’re done!
A Few Tips
• Watch the video first. It makes assembly much smoother, especially if it’s your first box.
• Check your software before buying. Make sure your machine supports one of the included file formats.
• Make a batch. Since it’s a compact size, it’s easy to make several at once for a party or a classroom.
A Note on Using the File
Personal and commercial use is included, so you’re welcome to sell the physical boxes you make. Please just don’t resell or redistribute the digital file itself, whether as is or modified.
